welcome to the website of our general practice: Karsten Bernerth, Specialist in Internal Medicine. We are located in Tschaikowskistr. 15 in 04105 Leipzig.

Our aim is to build and maintain a trustworthy relationship with you. Your health and welfare are our concern, our main objective being to maintain them, as well as your physical performance and wellbeing in life, with the use of preventive medicine into old age. In the case of acute pain, we strive to obtain a fast and accurate diagnosis permitting us to treat you soon after being submitted. Taking into account the personal circumstances of each and every patient we always endeavor to provide the best possible relief.

Medical examinations and therapies are conducted individually and in accordance with relevant guidelines. Continuous education and medical training imparted by the Medical Association of the State of Saxony, Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and Saxony SLAEK KVS control all physicians in Saxony and serve as quality assurance of all medical care offered.

Dear patients,

we want to improve your experience in our general practice to offer you a comfortable stay. We provide magazines and fresh water, as well as informational brochures to pass the waiting time. However, we have noticed that the waiting times are very long, among other issues, because:

• The appointments you have booked online are not related to the current requirements to solve your problem.
• Administrative reasons, such as filling out forms, prescribing follow-up prescriptions, etc., overload the capacity of the consultation.
• Booked appointments are not kept.

Online appointment booking has not proven efficient in our practice in terms of better planning and will therefore be discontinued at the end of April. All booked appointments will remain unaffected by this, but it will no longer be possible to book new appointments through Doctolib.

From now on, we offer you the possibility to communicate your problem by phone, email, or chat via the application: gesund.de. Once you have communicated your problem, we will determine the necessary resources and agree on a suitable appointment with you.

Our goal:

• You will not have to wait in front of the practice before it opens to access the emergency consultation.
• You will not have to wait in line at the counter until we process your problem.
• You will not have to endure long waits in the waiting room until it is your turn and risk contracting infectious diseases from others.
• You can be sure that your problem will be resolved at the appointment.

From July 2025, we want to ensure that you visit the general practice exclusively for a previously communicated appointment to resolve your problem, as a so-called appointment practice. An emergency consultation will no longer be offered!

Acute complaints will be assessed on-site and, if there is medical urgency, will be treated immediately; otherwise, you will be given an appointment for a new presentation and will pass the waiting time at home.
